P7’s Trip To Callander House

On the 25th of November p7 were evacuated from the Clydebank Blitz. We went to Callander House for a christmas event. Two different activities were planned for us. Firstly my group went to the classroom where we made parachute men and christmas hats. They were really easy to make. Next we went to the kitchen where we met Mrs Brown and Polly. We made carrot cookies out of rationed goods.

Evacuation to Callendar House

The pupils of Primary 7 were evacuated to Callendar House today, away from the Clydebank blitz. We spent our time making toys and pretty hats. We made a model with a parachute, just out of bits and bobs found around the house. We also spent time in the kitchens with Mrs Brown and Polly, making delicious carrot cookies, out of rationed goods.

p7 went to the Hippodrome cinema in Bo’ness and watched The Boy In The Striped Pyjamas. We went because we are learning about ww2 and the film was about Hitler torturing the Jewish people.

rainforest winners

P6 have made rainforests villages for their homework tasks. There was a competition and p5 and p7 voted for their favourite village and wrote it on a post it note.

there were three winners in first place was Kyle, in second place was Meighan and in third place was Scott. One of Kyles notes were because he used lots of detail. Also one of Meighans were you spent alot of time on it and you have used your brain, and finally one of Scotts were it must have taken alot of time and effort.

p7 are learning about ww2. we have made an anderson sheltor and planes to hang from the ceiling. we have been learning about leaders of major countries. we have made animations about world war 2 and we are reading a book called Carrie’s war.

P6 were set the challenge to design a 3D model of a rainforest village. They were allowed to use any materials they found at home and be as creative as they liked. This was a joint homework task which involved help from parents, family and friends! A huge thank you to all those who helped P6 create their magnificent masterpieces!

P4/5 School Trip

Our school trip to Callander House was good fun. We learned a lot about the Roman in Scotland. We examined Roman armour and wepons and chain mail. We helped to build a roman wall like Antonine wall. We formed A testudo with our shields when the Caledonians attacked us! After lunch we went for a nature walk in Callander Park with our binoculars. Liam read the map and told us which way to go! We saw many different creatures as we explored the woods.findlay&neave fell in a puddle it was a great day!

fantastic future

last term p7 went to do 3 workshops at the forth valley college. it was very fun! my group went to see a police diver, it was funny because chloe b put on a diver suit. then we went to see a manager from ciney world and he gave us loads of free bes, then we went to a lab up stairs to get some fish eggs dna. it was fun but very mesy but on the whole the day was very good!
