P6 show off their creative side!

P6 were set the challenge to design a 3D model of a rainforest village. They were allowed to use any materials they found at home and be as creative as they liked. This was a joint homework task which involved help from parents, family and friends! A huge thank you to all those who helped P6 create their magnificent masterpieces!

Roald Dahl Week

1. We made B.F.G [Big Friendly Giant] ears.

2. We made Mrs Twit eye-ball cakes.

3. We read Fantastic Mr Fox and The Twits for reading. IT WAS FUN!

4. We are now reading the B.F.G in class. It is funny and a bit scary and a tiny bit sad.

How to make B.F.G ears –

1^st you need a paint brush, pink and white paint, 2 paper plates, a hair band and glue.

2^nd you paint both sides of your paper plates and glue them on to your hair band.

3^rd once you have done that leave it to dry.

Then you will have your own B.F.G ears!

P5 Celebrate Roald Dahl Day!

Roald Dahl

I enjoyed when we made our sparkly golden tickets because I liked putting the shiny beads on it. I liked making the big pink BFG ears and i liked putting on the hairy pink pipe cleaners. I loved making the delcious chocolate bar, it looked so good I wanted to eat the yummy looking chocolate bar. I really enjoyed reading exciting Roald Dahl books. They were very interesting. I had fun making Mrs Twits eye balls. It was a good way to finish the week.

For Roald Dahl Week this is what we did -

We made Golden tickets which are out of Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, although we chose how we made them.
We also made BFG ears.
We had to paint them two different colours, they were light pink and a darker pink but not too dark of a pink.
We had topic homework to do with Roald Dahl.
My favourite bit of this fantastic week about Roald Dahl was the homework. It was brilliant! By Lauren

P6 have made unusual plants from the rainforest. We had to use junk!!! We all had great fun!!!

P1/2 Pencil Pots

An account of how P1/2 made pencil pots from empty gravy granule tubs, written by Jordan B.

• First we got a tub, glue, paint, a brush and pictures.
• Then we glued the pictures on the tub.
• Next we painted all over the tub with glue.
• Then we left the tubs to dry.
• Lastly we put the pencils in the tubs.

We did this as part of our eco focus – we re-used/recycled gravy granule tubs and comics, magazines and stickers for decoration.

We made 2 volcanos out of recycled newspaper and card. We took them outside and exploded them. We used cola and mints on one, on the other we used fairy liquid, food colouring, vinegar and bicarbonate of soda. The cola and mint one worked better.

Professor Brainstorm comes to visit

On one Wednesday, a man called Professor Brainstorm came to visit. He tought us loads of thing about science. He told us about friction and then pulled a cloth off a table with a flowers on the top of it. Because of the speed of the cloth, the friction did not happen and the flowers didn’t move. He also tought us about balance as he put a balloon on top of alot of nails and then added five cans of beans on top of it. The balloon did not burst until he put his hand on top of it accidentally. He lifted a football up in mid-air with a leaf blower. He also got a pipe out and shot a potato out of it at one hundred miles per hour. This happened because of the preasure he caused.

P5/6,had a homework task to make a iron man it could not be over 50cm,it had to have arms,legs,head,body,hands and feet and any other things you would like.You had to use resiceled things.Amys iron man is black with googly eyes and a silver mouth imade it out of a roses box two mach boxs a youghert box for a head.Cameron made his out of oasis and wire.
