Some Word Imagery from our Myst Writing:

The watery lagoon was like a Sherlock Holmes mystery waiting to be solved.

The steep stone steps were as jagged as the blades of a knife.

The creepy man was like the devil sneaking down the stone steps.

The house was like a jungle waiting for the zoo to come alive.

The dragon’s teeth were like a volcano bursting through the rocks.

The mini solar system was like a fire burning through my eyes.

The golden desert was like blocks of gold piled up in the sand.

The sea was as silent as a mouse creeping into the darkness of the night.

The lift was like a gun shooting up into the night.

Writing with Myst

The sea glimmered as the devils horns shot up through the rocks, on the rocky bay. Giant mountains of rocks like stepping stones lay in the water. As I walked down the slippery, steep, stone steps going further down leading to a bridge over a watery lagoon. I could see another devils horn shooting up out of the silent lagoon, into the light as I crept into the empty house as I squeezed through the stain glass door.

Once I went in, I had a garden in the room complete with a small bridge. Giant black cobwebs barred my way. I made my way up and it was like I was inside a hollowed out tooth. This was never ending it just crept into the darkness. It was like a dungeon of questions. I opened the Furness and pulled a leaver then it shot up like a gun shot just fired. As I took a look at all the leavers and tried to figure out how to work them the dungeon of puzzles came alive. When they opened up there were tiny planets for someone to follow.

I found myself in the laboratory of a mad professor. Strange body parts of an animal were hung out of a giant snail shell, an experiment gone wrong. Intestines sprawled all over the desk like small ropes. Then the lift came back down and as I stepped inside it began to move upwards. I was petrified as I arrived up at the next level. As the man reappeared my heart started to race. Then he disappeared. The lift started to move and go back down. The door was locked and then it re opened and I sprang out.

P7 have been working on animations as part of RME and Health. David an animator came in and helped us. There are more on our flickr site. Not all have sound, as we had a few technical problems!

P3 Citizenship

GoAnimate.com: dandy’s Animation by dandy

In P3 we have been looking at ways we can become better citizens. We have created characters so we can remember the 4 citizenship areas easily like Sparky the Star fish (self-esteem), Robin the Rainbowfish (relationships), Louie the Lobster (attitudes to learning) and Crusty the Crab (challenges). Last week we concentrated on relationships and wrote stories showing ways we can form better relationships. We made these into animations at ICT. We looked at our individual target that we created after our interview for homework this week to see if we are any closer to achieving it.

Fantastic Futures

Last term, p7 went to Forth Valley College to see the choices we have of what we want to become when we were older. Some workshops included, the sniffer police dogs, Police Divers, Cineworld, The Falkirk Herald, Ambulance driver and much much more. We had to extract DNA from fish eggs. Everyone enjoyed their time.

talking books p6

p6 were making books for the primary 1 class. we had different stories that everyone knows like the gingerbread man, little red riding hood, cinderella, little pigs and the 3 bears.
we recorded ourselves and took pictures of the story. Then we put them on powerpoint to put the sounds along with the pictures and they all look great.

P3 Safer Internet Day!

On Tuesday 10^th February it was Safer Internet Day. We decided to make

posters to help people in the school keep safe on the internet. We learned that sometimes people are not who they say they are and we must be careful when chatting online. It is really important not to give out your address or your phone number. Look at our great posters!

Mrs Doigs maths group made board games. We made games like snakes and ladders, guessing games and lot’s more. We used lot’s of materials and coloured pens. We even used the computers. Then we went through to other classes and asked them if they wanted to play our games. They all said yes and they loved them.

The Australian Visitors

Mrs P and her head teacher came to Scotland for five weeks and were here visiting the schools learning about us and how we learn. When they came they first let us ask multiple questions then about how the school they were in and how they lived. I learned that the schools were pretty much like us but they wore hats and shorts, plus if they didn’t wear their hats the weren’t allowed outside. From how the lived I already knew the weather was different but a thing I did learn that there is more animals living there than I expected and all the animals in their garden.

This is megpeg at ict club. At ICT club we link things to the Internet ,and put things on the blog. we also help the teachers upload photos and other information. We also get to listen to music and play games. It is on a Monday after school, for P5-7.
