Something that was very important to the Egyptians was a weed called papyrus. This weed grew wildly along the shores of the Nile River. The ancient Egyptians used papyrus to make many things, such as baskets, sandals, mats, rope, and paper!

This week we have been making papyrus paper in art. First we had to stick on our bandages onto card with glue. We left them to dry and coloured in a picture of King Tut, some Gods or a pharaoh. We used bright pens, metallic crayons and glitter glues to make them look fancy. We have been learning about Egyptian writing and wrote our names in hieroglyphics. We stained them with tea to make them look old. By Jenna, Shannon, Adam and Bray.
