The Boy in the Striped Pyjamas

Yesterday, Primary 7 went to Falkirk Town Hall to watch the film that was based on the book.  The place was chocca with folks from loads of schools.

We had been studying World War 2 as a topic and reading the book, so to mark Holocaust Memorial Day, we thought it a important trip to go on!  The film is a sad story and upsetting at times, but it was based around real events, so it was a worthwhile experience!

The film was really well done, with realistic scenes and settings.  It looked very realistic.  We felt that it is important to remember these events because we are lucky it isn’t happening to us and history has important lessons to learn.

I loved the book but the film was great. I loved how real it looked and it really loked like it was in those days. The characters were realistic and the scene setting was brilliant. It was a worth while exeriance and a good time.

    Hi there,

We went to see the film too and some of the class have also read the book. We have the same opinion that it was sad at some parts in the film but it was a very interesting story to see and learn from.

We feel lucky that we weren’t involved in those terrible times.
