Our Day of Being Evacuated

On the 22nd of October we were evacuated to Callendar House. First we were split up into two groups and went of to a workshop each. My first workshop was the evacuation workshop. The man then told us we had to put fancy clothes on and were told to put on weird hats and itchy jumpers.

Suddenly we were given an identity card, a postcard and a ration book. Then all of a sudden we were put on an imaginary train and evacuated to Clydebank and were given a home.

Our second workshop was being museum curator and we had to figure out what real World War 2 objects were used for.

I really liked my day and would do it again. But not if I was a real evacuee.
