P4/3 got blindfolded and went round the school with a partner. We have been learning about disabilities and this gave us a feeling of what it would be like to be blind. We had to give our partner directions because they couldn’t see where they were going. I thought it was hard especially going down the stairs and I got a bit confused. It was difficult because with the blindfold on everything was dark and you had to trust your partner to do a good job of guiding you. Meighan.
We had an experience of what it would be like to be blind on Tuesday. We walked from our classroom to the hall. I was a little bit scared going through the doorways incase I was hit by the door. I think I did a good job of guiding my partner around and held her hand going down the stairs. We also had a go of tying our laces, colouring a picture, sharpening pencils and washing our hands with the blindfold on. Sharpening pencils was quite hard but I managed ok. Washing my hands was easy and fun! I think we take a lot of things from granted as we can do them easily and it was good to understand how hard some things would be if we couldn’t see.
